PRESENTATION - TECHNICAL INFORMATION - 2023 30 RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ASSEMBLY INSPECTION OF THE EQUIPMENT ENSURE COLLECTIVE PROTECTION When designing, erecting and dismantling scaffolding in, collective protection must be prioritized. When in certain circumstances this cannot be fully or partially implemented, personal worker protection must be ensured with a fall prevention system (P.P.E.). STABILITY DURING ASSEMBLY The stability of the the entire scaffold must be checked while it is being assembled and dismantled, or in between, when the scaffolding is exposed to the wind pressure and that the stabilisation systems (anchor points, ballasts, etc.) are not yet positioned. When the scaffolding has been assembled, a formal acceptance report should be issued. For the stability of the scaffolding, particular attention must be paid to the type of ground and its strength. Before starting assembling and before each use: •Check that the components are in good condition. • Do not use any components that are suspect (parts that are bent, squashed, loose, etc.), • refuse any parts not sourced from Entrepose Échafaudages. Mixing parts from different sources on scaffolding is prohibited (see Article on mixed sourcing), • Never undertake repairs via welding, cold or hot rectification of the components that have undergone permanent deformation, •For any reconditioning, return the part to us. REGULATIONS GOVERNING GUARDRAILS The outer sides of scaffolding must be fitted with collective protection devices such that: "falls from heights are prevented by integrated guardrails or securely fixed and rigid guardrails with appropriate resistance, fixed at a height of between 1.00 m and 1.10 m, and having at least one toe board measuring 10 to 15 cm, one handrail and one middle rail halfway up" (paragraph 2 of article R. 233-13-20 of the decree of 1 September 2004). There must be no gaps of more than 20 cm between the edge of the decks and the structure or equipment against which the scaffolding is erected. When the configuration of the structure or equipment prevents this maximum distance from being met, the risk of falling must be prevented by collective or individual protection devices under the same conditions as those for the outer side.
