I n d u s t r i a l a p p l i c a t i o n 5 1 • Fit and lock the MDS guardrails (see detailed kinemat- ics on page 19). • Fit the “no entry” sign". • From this level, lay the deck and the Variopans in all the grid sections of the upper level. • When moving, attach the free tether before detaching the other one. • When the level is totally secure, assemble the next level repeating steps 3 and 4 (the 3.00 m standards are now replaced with 2.00 m ones). • Place and lay the adjustable baseplates on the spacing shims. • Interlock the basic standards. • Fit the ledgers of the straight sections and the 1.50 m ledgers in the intersections on the outside. • Assemble the tubes and couplers on the inside, giv- ing the required diameter. To be able to level it, tighten the couplers only on the tubes. • Level. • Tighten the couplers on the basic standards. • Lay the first temporary deck. • Assemble the complete deck in the access section. • Fit the standards and diagonals (3.00 m standards on the outside). • AT 2.00 m, fit the ledgers and tubes, except the outer ledgers straight sections that lock in place the MDS guardrails. • Fit stops or anchors at 4.00 m. • Continue assembly repeating steps 5 and 6. • For an upper service area with 3 levels, continue assembling following steps 6 and 7. • Fit stops or anchors as assembly progresses every 2 levels (4.00 m). • Inspect the scaffold and put the inspection report in the pocket on the “no entry” sign. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 See the assembling and dismantling recommendations on page 10. A ttaching personal protection equipment ( see page 22) One of the two hooks of the fall arresting system must always be attached ( except when accessing the upper floor). • After opening the trapdoor and before accessing the upper deck, attach yourself to the stirrup located 1.00 m above the deck. • Secure movement by attaching the 2nd tether to the 1.00 m guardrail above the deck, then remove the hook from the 1st tether. • Fit the guardrails between the sections (1.50 m ledgers) and the toeboards.
